REPLACE THAT $300 SKYTECH POS

Replaced my "$300!" "SKYTECH, (model SKY-3301)" with this unit (both handheld transmitter AND receiver) and works GREAT. Directions were clearly laid out. I am going to buy another one to have as a back up when and if handheld gets dropped and fails to deliver. Thanks Amazon!

Better than original. Easy to install. Keeps an even room temperature.

I needed to replace the receiver in my stand alone monesson fireplace. This appeared to fit the bill nicely. I was a little bit concerned about the fit. Mostly due to the configuration of the existing cover plate. The install was very easy and didn't take very long. About 15 minutes including removing the old receiver. The receiver fit into the mounting hole perfectly. The original cover plate wasn't compatible. The instructions state that you can install in a standard plastic switch box. It "looks" like a standard GFCI and or square switch cover would work as well. I haven't taken any measurements for that yet. However, as you can see from the pictures the way I have it temporarily mounted will work quite well until I can figure that out. The temperature control works very well. In fact it works better than the original. When the temp. goes below your setting there's no delay to sending the signal to start the fireplace. Same for when it reaches your set temp. Since this is the primary source of heat for my home office I decided to mount the remote on the wall with the included mounting plate. My wall is brick and instead of drilling any holes I used velcro to attach it to the wall. The screen on the remote requires a mostly straight on viewing angle to see it clearly. 45 degrees is about the max visibility. Others have mentioned that the buttons are too sensitive to small brushes with them changing them. While they are very sensitive there's an automatic lock button that needs to be held for a few second to release the other buttons for use. You can also manually lock it using the same button. Be careful in handling the remote and you won't have an issue. If you mount the remote on the wall you shouldn't have any issue. This unit works better than the original. The only function that I would have liked for this to have is being able to program setback times. There are those units out there with this functionality, but they are more expensive. For the price this is a good value

Nice Remote Control Kit for Gas Fireplace – Quick Setup!

I installed this fireplace remote control kit for my millivolt valve system, and the unit works well overall, providing reliable on/off control and thermostat functionality right out of the box. The remote is nice with its LCD screen, touch buttons, and yellow backlight for easy visibility at night—it even shows the day of the week, though it's not programmable, which is a minor letdown if you want scheduled automation. The timer and child-proof lock are handy features, and it pairs seamlessly with the receiver for temperature settings in both F and C.Installation took about 1 minute, maybe 2 because I had to find four batteries, but it was pre-programmed and straightforward: just connect the wires to the valve terminals. It would be great if it came with an AC adapter or at least had an AC-compatible power control module to avoid relying solely on batteries, but for now, it's performing solidly. A good addition to our fireplace.

Solid Wireless Thermostat Upgrade for Millivolt Fireplaces

Installation & SetupInstallation was straightforward. The receiver connects directly to the TH and TH/TP terminals on the millivolt valve, and pairing is essentially done out of the box—just insert the batteries, switch the receiver to remote mode, and it’s ready. If you’re comfortable accessing your fireplace valve compartment, this is a manageable DIY project. The kit includes the receiver, wiring, mounting hardware, and a wall bracket for the transmitter. Keep in mind that you’ll need 4 AA batteries for the receiver and 2 AAA batteries for the remote, which are not included.PerformanceFunctionally, it works very well. The on/off control is reliable, and the thermostat mode works well, though it’s a feature we won’t need. Being able to set a target temperature and let the fireplace cycle automatically can make the room much more comfortable without constant manual adjustment if your setup requires that feature. The receiver also allows manual operation if needed.Range has been sufficient for typical living room use. Once installed, the system feels dependable and consistent.Display & ControlsThe LCD screen is clear and features a yellow backlight that makes it easy to read at night. In bright direct sunlight, visibility drops somewhat, but in normal indoor lighting it’s perfectly fine. The touch-sensitive buttons are responsive—sometimes very responsive. It’s easy to accidentally trigger a button while handling the remote. There is a lock feature that activates automatically after 30 seconds to prevent unintended inputs, which helps, but it can also slow things down slightly when you just want to make a quick adjustment. Switching between Celsius and Fahrenheit is simple, though it can be toggled unintentionally if that button is brushed. The timer function (with preset shutoff intervals) is available, though navigating some of the clock and timer settings takes a bit of patience. It’s not overly complicated once you’ve tried it a few times, but it isn’t the most intuitive interface at first and is another feature we don’t need for our setup.Final ThoughtsThis remote control kit does what it promises: it adds convenient, wireless thermostat control to a millivolt gas fireplace. The core functionality is strong and reliable. The only real downside is that the touch interface has a slight learning curve and can be a bit sensitive if you intend to use all the features. In our setup, we just need the remote on/off convenience. If you’re comfortable with that tradeoff, it’s a practical and worthwhile upgrade that makes everyday fireplace use much easier.

Perfect

This item is great. Took less than 5 min to instal, add batteries and program. 2 wires to hook onto the gas valve. Remote allows for setting on and off temps or a timer function. Control box also allows manual operation. Instructions are clear and provide example drawings. No issues at all.

This wireless remote and transmitter work super well. I bought my house and the original remote must have been lost. I used chatgpt to help me install the new wireless remote (I submitted photos of my wiring and of the New Style transmitter and asked how to install). A little more on that later. After installation, I can turn on and off the fireplace with the remote. I can also set temperature to have it automatically turn on or off at my set temperature. The remote comes with a wall mount and I tested it up to 20ft away and through one wall with no issues. The only thing I didn't like is that x4 AA batteries and x2 AAA batteries needed were not included.Apparently, I had an old remote switch transmitter already which did not have the plastic connector pieces. So I just needed to cut/strip the plastic connector off the New Style remote transmitter and then replace the old remote switch transmitter with the new ones I just cut, tighten the wire nuts, then it was done and working perfectly.I also have a blower and manual button switch on the side of fireplace which still work after installation of the new wireless remote transmitter.Overall, the product works well and I can now happily turn on and off my fireplace from the comfort of my couch.

Good remote. Glossy and washable finish. Looks nice and is functional. “The new style” logo is corny but is what it is.

I wanted to do this last winter, but the only option were over $100. This was a very good price and it works really well. Shipping was quick 2 day just like it should be because that’s what it said there are no directions though so you will have to figure out how to hook up the two wires which is easy it is just a straight through dry contact just like an on off switch

Good Quality and Works as Expected.

The "New Style" Branded Gas Fireplace Remote Control Kit caught my attention when I came across the listing. I had actually previously been looking at a different brand altogether, but this product had a very similar feature set for a more competitive price. I was very interested in checking this out. This product comes with a printed manual which provides good information for settings and installation. It will require a small amount of installtion effort, but I feel it is quite straight foward and not too difficult for a DIYer with basic skills. (Note that this is a two conductor wire setup for MILLIVOLT type systems only! Pay close attention to your model to confirm this is the right version for you)I want to first note that this kit is not meant to replace an existing wall switch. There is no wall plate for that with this particular kit. This control module is meant to go directly within your Gas Fireplace Valve Control area and be hidden from view. The wiring is a simple two wire hookup and you will connect your existing two conductor low voltage wiring here. The control box receiver will require 4 "AA" batteries that you supply.I really like the handheld remote with this kit. It has a stylish black look. Its a good size without being too large with an easy to read backlit LCD display. The backlighting will automatically dim when you are not directly interacting with the remote. Rather than tactille buttons, this remote has sort of touch sensor type buttons which give it a very sleek appearance and feel. You can easily switch the readout from F to C for the temp display. You do not necessarily have to set an auto turn off/on temp as this will function as a simple on/off remote if you choose. I set a low turn on temp of 45F (just in case of an emergency to ensure the Fireplace will come on to provide some basic heating if we are away if the regular furnace fails. I tested that functionality and it works as expected. In the end, I am impressed with this device. It is a good quality product and it has functioned as described. Learning the remote setting functions was a short learning curve, but this product and remote is easy to use and intuitive. At the orginally listing price of $57.99, I feel this is reasonable for what you are getting here. This "New Style" product provides a lot more options and functionality. This is certainly worth considering in my opinion.

A Seamless Tech Upgrade for Your Hearth

This fireplace remote control kit is great for anyone looking to modernize their millivolt valve system without a complicated overhaul. The "Milivolt valve system" is the keyword here so make sure your fireplace is compatible if you are planning to get one of this. The backlit LCD screen and touch key buttons provide a sleek, contemporary feel. Beyond just looking sharp, the thermostat and timer functions seem to work flawlessly, allowing you to maintain the perfect ambient temperature or set a countdown so you never have to worry about accidentally leaving the fire on overnight. It’s a rare "plug-and-play" solution that actually lives up to the promise, offering a responsive, high-end user experience that truly elevates the comfort of your living space.
